We were thrilled to discover that Abbot Kinney's new outpost of Scandinavian design, Huset, has a stash of designer clothing in the back of the store -- alleviating the Scandinavian fashion drought that befell LA when Danmark closed in 2008.
Huset's offerings fit their coastal location: embroidered tunics, silk and lace baby-doll camis, maxi dresses, skirts, and some choice chunky knits. Designers include DAY Birger et Mikkelsen, 2ND DAY, Custommade, By Malene Birger, Hunkydory, and Rabens Saloner.
Our favorites include: the Aio striped skirt by By Malene Birger ($250), the Aquebogue bloussant top by Hunkydory ($165), and the Carmen dress by 2ND DAY ($250). But the real show stoppers were pieces from Danish line Custommade: their pinstripe Cattia shorts ($140), their floaty but urban Naja button-down tunic ($140), and, most of all, their absolutely fabulous leather and shearling Jonna jacket ($1,575) are not to be missed.
