Saks Launches Devoted Flash Sale Site

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Have we already made the analogy that flash sales are the shopping equivalent to reality TV -- ubiquitous, cheap to produce, and offering maybe not A-list content? Saks Fifth Avenue is the latest to get into the fray, and it seems like they're upping the ante. Since their Fashion Fix has been so popular, they're giving it its own home (even though the URL seems to default back to Saks Fifth Avenue). Their big launch is an Elizabeth and James event, with recent merchandise. And YAY for them, since we do get tired of a few of the other sales sites that seem to keep trotting out the same four-seasons-old pieces from Marc Jacobs every quarter (you know who you are!).
