Malls and marketers everywhere are trying to hitch their wagons to the unstoppable
grease selling machine that Jersey Shore is turning out to be. First up, we have some officially sanctioned Jersey Shore sunglasses, courtesy of MTV and NYS Collection. (It appears that Snooki even has her own imprint.) Available online and at finer mall kiosks everywhere, for around $20.
Next up is the slightly improbable pitch for (wait for it) Vaska laundry detergent. It's obvious: The Situation's GTL (gym, tan, laundry) thing. While the product apparently bears no connection to Jersey Shore, we gotta give the PR team credit for a creative pitch:
Gym. Tan. Laundry. Spoken by the ever eloquent Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, this Italian stallion knows he has to maintain the GTL in order to stay fresh and Vaska can certainly help with that. The pure, botanically based natural Vaska?won’t bother sensitive shore sun drenched skin. With Vaska’s stain fighting power, all of your “situations” covered 24/7.
It appears the whole is greater than the sum of the parts, meaning the Jersey Shore franchise is the actual marketing blockbuster?had any one of the cast members launched a product that actually made it to market, and lasted longer than a month? Win or lose, the whole thing makes us a little sad.
