Being very big dance music fans but not so big fans of the whole rave thing, we were delighted to have the opportunity to see DFA stalwart The Juan MacLean do a li'l DJ set at a Guess party at the Roosevelt Hotel on Saturday. Especially since the only other place to catch him is the HARD Festival coming up this weekend, with about 100,000 more people. No thanks.

We didn't see any zippered ankle jeans at the pool, but we did see a few Guess models and lots of interesting fashion statements. For the men, abs and tattoos in very painful places seemed to be the look of the day. No one particular look. For women, the look of the day was also abs and tattoos in very painful places -- i.e. the bikini-line tattoo (you know, that spot nestled right between your hip bone and your ladybits in front). Is this the tramp-stamp of 2011? Two of our favorite looks of the day: the gal with the wild mane and the 70s print swimsuit (see the photogallery), and a guy wearing cut-off shorts with a dinosaur print. It might not have been high fashion, but any guy whose pants can make us laugh is alright in our book
