Designer Mascara Collabs at Target

We're kind of scratching our heads about this one: right now in our inbox, we received an invitation to celebrate the launch of three new designers collabs at Target. Max Azria, Vivienne Tam and Tracy Reese have worked with Maybelline to create limited edition mascaras that will be sold exclusively at Target. Kinda weird, right, since none of these designers do makeup. We're guessing they will each put their distinctive touch on packaging, rather than the actual mascara. But is this some weird ploy to get a designer name on ANY product? What's next, Target, Marc Jacobs pet toys? Should you wish to get a piece of this limited edition action, the mascaras go on sale, online on the 14th , and they hit stores on August 21. [Racked Inbox, Target]
