Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Nicole Cari holds the title of press and marketing director for LA's Band of Outsiders, and while she's already in the very privileged position of working alongside genius Scott Sternberg (we would kill to spend a few minutes inside that creative head of his), it appears she's even MORE in the know than we expected. Once September hits, Cari will be kicking back at Standard Goods, a shop with a retail element to every nook and cranny - from the clothes for sale to the art on the walls. Consider this your warning...with a Band of Outsiders stamp of approval. Is it September yet?

"Standard Goods. This place is such a hidden gem, it's not even open yet! But it will be on September 1st. The owner, Garrett Colton, is a close friend and former Band of Outsiders employee from back in the day. Some might call his place a lifestyle or general store, but it's essentially a one stop shop to find well made and nice looking goods. Everything you see will be for sale, from the art on the walls, to the furniture by Alex Artigas/Chairtastic, records and turntable curated by Wombleton Records, handpicked vintage pieces found across the country, and clothing by Band of Outsiders, Sierra Designs, Velva Sheen, and Armorlux. The doors aren't even open yet, but if this store is half as cool as Garrett, no doubt it's worth the shopping trip."
