TOMS sets the record straight?

There was a bit o' controversy kicked up when the media realized that Blake Mycoskie, the founder of Toms shoes, was a speaker at an event hosted by Focus on the Family, a strongly anti-gay, anti-choice (anti-liberal) group. Considering FOTF probably doesn't have a lot over fanbase overlap with Toms, the moved seemed a bit odd. Now, Mycoskie has quickly responded, claiming that, "Had I known the full extent of Focus on the Family’s beliefs, I would not have accepted the invitation to speak at their event." Wait, really? He'd never heard of them and didn't Google them before saying yes? [Style Section LA]
