Lisa Simpson, Shoe Designer

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It's not our favorite passive-aggressive, spiky-headed cartoon character but her alterego Yeardley Smith who's designing a new, high-end footwear collection. She's calling it Marchez Vous ("you walk" in French), and her goal is to marry beauty with comfort. The shoes are described as having a "retro-yet-modern aesthetic, mixing leather, burlap, patent, suede and quilting techniques in unexpected ways." We describe these anti-stilettos as a little Chie Mihara, a little Miu Miu. The shoes retail for $350 - $495, and they'll be available at Fred Segal Feet. [Accessories Magazine, Marchez Vous]
