The Stuff Hipster Wet Dreams Are Made Of: Apple Moving Next Door to Barneys Co-Op

In May, real estate magnet Rick Caruso flipped the bird pretty hard to the Glendale Galleria by announcing that a new Apple store would be installed at across-the-street rival the Americana at Brand. We're stalking the Barneys sale, so we made a trip to check out Co-Op and look what we found: the new Apple store will be neighbors with the Co-Op, which should undoubtedly delight the core Co-Op shoppers. (Ok, so The Grove also has a Co-Op and an Apple store, but it's not like they're side by side. Whatever.) Still no word on when it will open, through as far back as May 12, there were already reports that the store was recruiting new employees. Now, Apple stores are not like Starbucks: it seems implausible that two could co-exist within a block of each other. If you've actually been to the Glendale Apple store during peak times, it's totally plausible to think that yes, the area does, in fact, need another one.
