The Short of It Is WTForever21.com Stays Up

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Yay! We just got an official statement from embattled blogger Rachel Kane stating that she's leaving the wickedly funny WTForever21.com up (for now), and she'll soon be back to "blogging about fashion atrocities like lime green, faux fur covered vests and candy colored booty shorts". The statement gives a pretty unimpeachable defense of the site (you know we're not lawyers, right?) on the basis of fair use, protected speech, and that, "It's incredibly unlikely that any portion of the site would ever cause confusion in the minds of the general public about whether or not Forever 21 endorses or is affiliated with it." Yeah, Rachel, no one could ever confuse your site with the real Forever 21 because the copy on your site actually makes sense! [Racked Inbox, Racked, previously]
