Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Everyone's doing it lately: moving. Now you can add Alpha to that list; as of next week, the shop for boys and toys is moving across the street to the spot vacated by Clothespin. The new space will let them put more emphasis on the clothing and shoes aspect of the store: they'll stock a bunch of new lines, including clothing by ZAK, Gypsy 05, and Converse Black Canvas; shoes by Gourmet, Ateliers and Zurick, among others.
They're looking for some assistance prior to the move: i.e., they want you to come by and purchase merchandise so they don't have to pack it up! They're having a sidewalk sale that dovetails into the bigger West Hollywood garage sale this weekend. It's Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 5pm. Alpha is promising some merchandise for $50 and $10; if you don't check it early, it might not be there later.
