Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Here's something that will make you want to give up your Bikram yoga, your tofu, your medicine cabinet full of Origins products: even at 55 and after many, many years of extremely hard partying, Billy Idol looks amazing. He was one of the music notables who showed up at the John Varvatos store in West Hollywood to celebrate Taken by Storm, a retrospective of the career of Storm Thorgerson. Storm, both independently and as part of Hipgnosis Studios, has produced some of the most memorable and iconic album covers ever, including work for Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Muse, Audioslave, and The Mars Volta, among many others. He's a big enough talent to turn John Varvatos into something of a smitten schoolboy, and the WeHo boutique is hosting the exhibit through June 30.

Ok, so maybe it's a bit early to give up your tofu: there were a few other odd old musicheads there who did not come close to approximating Idol's grace. (By which we mean they looked really scary.) But otherwise, the party was super-well attended by actors, cultural types, neighbors, and other ridiculously good looking people. At one point, some random lady came up to us and said, "Everyone here is just?so?PRETTY." And well-dressed, obviously, since many of the dudes wear sporting Varvatos just for the party.
