TenOverSix's Arty Turn

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Elizabeth Daniels, 5/11

One of the major things we love about TenOverSix is their arty, curated aesthetic -- clothes are not just hung on racks, they're carefully displayed within handsomely crafted fixtures, giving you the feeling that you're in a really cool museum, or an artist's house. They're tweaking their own formula and blurring the lines by bringing in "capital a" Art to display within the store.

They're currently showing an exhibit called Lazy Sins of Spring, curated by Yaoska Davila, featuring the works of Dan Attoe, Hannah Hooper (who's already kinda famous with her band Grouplove), and Steven Shein. It's a small but diverse collection -- some sculpture, painting, and signworks. Now, if you can tear yourself away from looking at the Alexander Wang, Rachel Comey, and Opening Ceremony, it's definitely something to see! The exhibit lasts until May 23, so definitely make sure you catch it.
