Atmosphere, one of Los Feliz' longest running boutiques is packing it all in at the end of the month. Boo. The spot probably won't be vacant for long -- that is, if there isn't already a tenant lined up -- judging from how quickly the other recently vacated spots found new merchants so quickly. (Oou was snatched up by Weltenbuerger, and when Show closed, it was immediately taken over by New High Mart.) We'll miss Atmosphere and their funky blend of smaller indie labels and fun housewares, but there's always hope that a rad new merchant will step in to fill their shoes.
Now for the ambulance chasing, so to speak: yes, the whole inventory is on sale, but for right now, most of it's only been marked down 15%. There are a few bins with merchandise that's up to 80% off -- mostly Obey cotton shirts and dresses, and denim in tiny sizes from Blank. The shoe selection is random, but full of good deals (and odd sizes), including low-priced gems from Jeffrey Campbell, dv by Dolce Vita and Sam Edelman, and a lone pair of Kork-Ease wedges. We'll keep you posted on the deals as the prices drop.
