If you've ever puzzled about who's clothing the zombie-like bear that stands watch at the Western Canyon entrance of Griffith Park, puzzle no more: Captain Hook has been outed. This outlaw crafter grew up on a 70s hippie commune farm; the NPR interview makes it sound like she did time on a needlepoint chain-gang. Although she is currently scoping other landmarks, we'd like to see her whip up a kicky summer frock, or maybe even a bathing suit for the bear. [Curbed LA, NPR]
