When dressy designers collaborate with sportswear lines, not all are as successful as Adidas + Stella McCartney's ongoing haute-sport project. (Think Norma Kamali's 2006 line for Everlast as one sadly short-lived example.) Catherine Malandrino takes another stab at the genre this week. In stores and online now is Lacoste + Malandrino's street chic collaboration, which updates the preppy sportswear line with everyday styles that look fresh and feel stretch-cotton comfortable. The flirty tennis skirts, sweatshirt-inspired tunics and dolman sleeve dresses are perfectly timed for transitional weather, and are rendered in easy-to-wear black and white and on-trend brights. Emerald-tone draped neck dresses look particularly Malandrino-esque - plus you can throw them in the washing machine. Prices start at $145 for a top to $265 for dresses.
