Frugal Fashion Outposts Opening Soon: Vince Camuto in Dungeon-Looking Outlets, Buffalo Exchange Inside a Frank Gehry Building

It's funny to think of vintage-boho-resale kings Buffalo Exchange inhabiting a swanky, futuristic designer building.

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Normally, we're not huge on store architecture, but we thought it was funny that, on the same day, we got news of these two bargain outlets opening in spaces that are pretty much the polar opposite of one another:

The Citadel is quite possibly the scariest looking and most ominous shopping center in LA -- it's that fortress-facade looking thing off of the 5 Freeway, you've probably driven by it at least a million time?Looks like you're going to need to suck it up and make the trip to check out the first Vince Camuto outlet to open in California. The nearly 3,000 square foot store opens at the Citadel in May, joining a host of other cut-price stores like Puma, the Charlotte Russe outlet, the DKNY Company Store, and an Ed Hardy Outlet. A Juicy Couture outlet coming soon, too.

Slightly nearer on the horizon: Buffalo Exchange will be opening an outpost in Santa Monica. Exact location is 2449 Main Street; it's 2,000 square feet, has all the features you know and love (or hate) about Buffalo Exchange: come to buy, sell, and trade recent and gingerly worn clothes and shoes But the big selling point, at least for us, is that it's in The Edgemar, a Frank Gehry designed building.
