While not having quite the high-profile impact that John Galliano's meltdown had, there's another rumor floating around that Balmain's Christophe Decarnin has been holed up in a mental institution since January. The designer was very noticeably absent from the show this morning, for which two competing accounts have been given. Unnamed source: "Described as a "total nightmare," he disappeared one day in mid-January. Soon after, it was announced to employees that he would not be coming back." Balmain owner M. Alain Hivelin: "No, he's NOT retired. He's just tired. He didn't go to bed until 5am. He's not here, he's resting." Sure he's resting?in the asylum. [The Cut]
