It's shocking but not really shocking to learn that mall magnate Rick Caruso just lured Nordstrom over to the Dark Side the Americana at Brand. The new Nordy's will open in 2013: three-levels, 135,000 square feet on the site of the recently pwned Golden Key Hotel. Could be political, but a Nordstrom spokesperson Colin Johnson says "We had an aging facility? We felt our customers would be better served by this new store." Of course, the real coup de grace would be if Caruso could get the Apple Store across the street, but it just seems like a matter of time before the Glendale Galleria implodes. [Curbed]
