That's what a recent study published in Consumer Reports spinoff ShopSmart Magazine says. The report cites other guilt-inducing statistics, like the average woman owns 17 pairs of shoes (only three of which make it into regular rotation). About the cost: yup, on average, women spend $49 a pair, and only 31% have ever spent more than $100 on a pair of shoes. And almost 20% of the 1,009 women polled reveal that they've hidden a purchase from hubby. [Racked Inbox]
