Unexpected Denim Explodes into Spring

This is LA. We expect people to wear jeans. Hell, even a casual denim jacket here and there is considered chic. But for Spring 2011, designers have seemed to decide that denim is the IT fabric to have on everything, and everything must be worn at the same time. So Canadian tuxedos are totally cool now, like cutting-edge cool. Bonus points if you pair that blazer with shorts instead of pants, apparently. Denim coats, wide-leg jeans, embellished blazers, shoes, chambray shirts, overalls and more paraded down the runways, almost all in the standard classic blue shade. For the first time ever, we recommend wearing a trend head-to-toe to replicate a runway look. And for the first time ever, we can read a trend piece and all open our closets and say, "Well, looks like I'm set for this season. Okay, then." Carry on.
