(updated at 11am this morning, with info from a friend who called from the sale)—Read 'em and weep: the Barneys Warehouse Sale is over on Monday, and as of yesterday at 1pm, it's already a bit picked over. There have been additional price chops:
40% 50% on women's designer and shoes; 60% off as is; 25% off accessories and men's clothing. The Co-op merchandise (Phillip Lim, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Rag & Bone, etc.) has not been price-chopped. Boo. got chopped to 25% off.
The designer section looks especially worked over. Only three pieces in Prada. As we said earlier in the week, the sale got an infusion of goods that we hadn't seen, including a few Rodarte items. Granted, we didn't stalk every item, but we counted three (a sweater which looks really threadbare, a gown and a cocktail dress). Oh, and those Rodarte tees? Less than twenty bones. The shoe section still seems relatively full, but it's stocked with things that wouldn't have been our first, second or even third choices; like being in a bar at 1:30 in the morning and trying to figure out the least heinous choice to go home with. We left empty-handed and alone. The salespeople were all coy about whether or not there would be an additional price-chop over the weekend; last time, we went on the last day of the sale and found that prices hadn't moved at all.
Be warned: if you go this weekend, some NBA All-Star events are also going on in the Convention Center. More traffic, less parking, and some very interesting people watching.
