Decadestwo.1 Shoe/Dress/Bag Blowout

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The weather report says we're in for showers Saturday morning, but that probably won't be much of a deterrent for the hardcore shoe-obsessers who queue up early for the Decadestwo.1 $150 shoe sale. There are promises that this sale will offer the broadest variety yet (we've been there, we can attest that there hundreds and hundreds of pairs). And it's not just shoes. New to the sale is the $300 and under designer purse category. Plus, the $250 and under dress collection launches this weekend. It's been a huge hit already on the website, so they're rolling this out as a regular feature. Christos said he wanted to give budding connoisseurs of high-end resale a chance to get their feet wet, as well as provide a way for more seasoned shoppers to experiment with new looks and fill up their closets. There are day looks as well as evening dresses, right now pieces and a few classics, from brands including Etro, Gucci, Pucci, Helmut Lang, Miu Miu, Prada, Missoni, Dries Van Noten, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Catherine Malandrino. Many of these dresses still brand new with the tags attached.

The sale starts at 9 on Saturday. Christos says that if it rains, they'll provide umbrellas and figure out how to strategically use the awnings -- but that's of little comfort to the women who truck on in and roll up at 4am. See ya at the sale!
