In the post-Amazon age, one of the last remaining corporate chain bookstores developed a wildly popular e-reader, and the other one had a bunch of $20 Yanni CDs. That's why Barnes & Noble is eking it out while Borders is officially in Chapter 11. They're closing many stores ASAP: LA locations to shutter include Glendale, Century City, Pasadena, West LA and Sherman Oaks. [LA Times]
