Sale to Benefit Animal Rescues; Vintage Pop Up on Melrose

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

BEVERLY HILLS—There is an exhausting amount of sample sale action taking place this weekend, but only one (that we know of) is for a good cause. A portion of the proceeds from the Animal Advocates Alliance sample sale will benefit animal rescues; there is also a $10 door fee that goes towards the organization. Participating brands include LNA, Alexis Hudson and Nola Singer. You might pick up more than a new shirt or shoes: dogs will be available on-site for adoption. [Racked Inbox]

BEVERLY GROVE—The time of holiday pop-up shops is upon us. Tomorrow brings the opening of Simply Vintageous, which bills itself as "a holiday pop-up shop unlike any other." The stock here is a mix of vintage and new clothes and accessories procured over the years by owner/screenwriter Beth LaMure. The party is from 5 to 9pm at 8270 Melrose Ave; wine and snacks will be served. [Racked Inbox]
