Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
When we walked into the LnA sample sale this morning, we were a bit surprised to see only a handful of racks, but were more pleasantly surprised by the quality of the offerings. Basic tees ? both short and long-sleeved ? were $10, more design-y tees and henleys were $15, bralettes (which, we have to admit, we especially loved) were $20, and dresses were $30ish. Basic black and whites abounded, with some autumn shades thrown in the mix for good measure. We also spotted some cute waffle-knit sweaters with zippered breast pockets, B&W bustier-style camis (but in cotton ? what's not to love?), drapy sweater-style dresses, and leisure pants that make lazy Sundays all the more appealing.
Though we heard that an eager mob of about 15 people wiped out at least 1/4 of the sale's inventory in the first 30 minutes, we thought there was definitely good damage still to be done. Sale runs through Friday.
