Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Remember, how a few years ago, there was the Kogi truck, then the Kimodo truck, then BOOM, about ten thousand other trucks showed up on the scene? Well, unfortunately, that kind of proliferation isn't quite happening with the fashion trucks, but there are a few good new shopping trucks to roll out. For example, Shop Truck LA. We caught up with the truck at an event that also featured reigning champ Le Fashion Truck, just to see what they're all about.
The truck is helmed by Rebecca Marciano, a long-time Beverly Hills boutique proprietor, so she knows her merchandise. The selection is pretty upscale for mobile: when we visited, we saw goods from Greylin and Madison Marcus, as well as a large election of denim from Genetic Denim and 7 for All Mankind. They had a $20 rack with a few pieces that looked like samples, and everything else was reasonably priced -- Greylin jackets for $50 - $80, and tees for $30 and under. Click through the galleries to see some of our favorite finds.
Check them out for yourself: Shop Truck LA and Le Fashion Truck will be tag-teaming Artwalk next Thursday (November 10), 742 S. Main Street. Or follow them on Twitter to find out where they're rolling next.
