It's confirmed: Uniqlo is getting ready to open an outpost in LA. A Racked tipster sends word that the Japanese fast-fashion chain is now hiring for its "manager-in-training" program for LA positions. Those who are accepted will receive a six-month-long trip to Japan where they will be indoctrinated taught the Uniqlo way. From the SimplyHired listing: "You will embody the Japanese standard and lead by example to deliver a premium, consistent brand experience to the UNIQLO U.S. team and stores."
This confirms a report by blogger Brigham Yen, who two months ago took a trip to New York and decided to ask the sales managers at the Topshop and Uniqlo stores in Soho about their plans to expand to LA. At both, the response was vague but encouraging.
For a preview of what's in store for LA shoppers, check out Racked NY's exhaustive coverage of the Uniqlo that recently opened in midtown Manhattan. Brigham Yen is hoping for a Downtown location; our bets are on a mall. Where do you think Uniqlo will land?
