Bad Pitch of the Day That's Actually Pretty Good

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Around the Racked, we get some highly dubious pitches -- many of them involving a Kardashian or a Real Housewife, and some cockamamie product neither they nor you would ever use. A great, great many of these merit the Wil Wheaton Collating response. (If you haven't seen it, you must.) We just got an email entitled, Dancing With the Stars' Favorite Hairspray, which made us do some serious eyerolling. But then we started to think about it, and that is an awfully good endorsement for a product that most of us use. According to Emmy Award winning Dancing with the Stars hairstylist Kimi Messina, White Sands Infinity hairspray "?not only gives you the best hold when you're using hot tools, it also protects against heat damage. It protects against UV damage, and where I really think it shines is how well it brings out the shine in your hair!" So now you know. [The Bloggess, Racked Inbox]
