Fantasy vintage purveyors The Way We Wore just launched their annual 50% off sale. When we dropped by, we found the store practically bursting with treasures from the 1940s to more recent eras. Included in the sale are a few choice pieces from Sonia Rykiel, Christian Dior, and Pierre Cardin; not included in the sale, but totally worth ogling, is an impeccable collection of Chanel, Balenciaga, YSL and Gucci. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you were just looking at the labels, since there are so many standout pieces of truly exceptional quality that sport labels you've never heard of. We were totally loving their collection of furs, stoles and chubbies; so au currant, but with classic cuts, ladylike proportions and details that will make you want to hold onto them forever. (Which is a lot more than we can say about some of the faux fur items we purchased last season.) And for the first time, TWWW is also discounting their sunglasses, including some fabulously huge Christian Diors.

The sale goes through the month of January. The Way We Wore is open Monday through Saturday, 11am to 7pm, and Sunday from 12pm to 6pm.
