Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Well, this is one way to make your Hollywood debut (those already born not eligible): Target is doing a really, really REALLY big birth announcement service at Hollywood and Highland. They've erected a giant magnet board that gets changed -- by real, live people -- every 15 minutes. They're doing something similarly high profile in New York, with the birth announcements broadcast on ABC, NASDAQ and Reuters billboards. If you want to see it, or maybe you just want to check out new trends in baby names, better hurry, since it's only up until tomorrow night.
