When it comes to finding good staples for cheap, we really feel for guys: not a lot of options. That short list just grew by one this week: DiLascia's Bakery, freshly opened on Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood. It's a combo space: showroom and retail for three brands, DiLascia's Bakery, Twice, and Rolland Berry. They offer very California casual pieces for guys -- lots of graphic tees, sweaters, cords and jackets -- at prices that will make you do a double-take. like the faux vegan leather jackets and handsome sweaters for about $100. Prices start around $20 for select tees, and there's nothing in the store for more than $300, though honestly, we didn't even see anything for more than $100. They're still working on the mix, and they will be bringing in more spring merchandise in the coming weeks.
Charmingly enough, the space used to be an ice cream parlor. It's the kind of light, airy space that makes you want to take up residence on a sunny Saturday afternoon. And the store's namesake promises that as the spring unfolds, there WILL be parties there -- bring it on!
