Although it's not the perfect material to wear in the heat, leather has extended beyond accessories again for spring and summer 2011. Leather pants and skirts are more chic than S&M, and wearing it head-to-toe is not confined to a WeHo freakshow. It comes in tank tops, dresses or entire matching suits. And don't forget the soothing power of a soft suede. A neutral piece will carry you through many seasons, while a bold color screams RIGHT NOW. Real leather can be pricey, and though we can safely assume there will be many faux options available, don't cheap out on a fast-fashion version—pleather is not only uncomfortable, but looks like cheap trash. For those willing to splurge on the real deal, make sure to brush up on leather care and invest in a good conditioner and protector.
