Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

A tailored blazer is usually frowned upon in laid-back LA, but this spring many designers have put a new, more casual spin on the look. Silhouettes range from cropped to long, with leather or faux-fur trim, featuring metallic fabrics or a printed interior lining. Neutrals and monochrome looks are back in style, so consider matching a blazer with a t-shirt underneath, but don't be afraid to use one as a pop of color on top of a simpler look. Wear one over a dress, with shorts, with leggings, with jeans or with matching suit pants. Or do what we do: wear one over a slinky tank top or LBD at night as a stylish way to stay warm.
