The Decadestwo FNO/400 Dresses for $400 of Less party was both one of the few sane havens and a retail spot where people actually buying things (probably because the store wasn't wall-to-wall drunk fashionistas). Right out of the gates, the store was a spirited but civilized affair, with a torrent of extremely well dressed fashiony ladies stopping by to sip champagne and paw (and purchase) those lovely dresses. Designer Alexis Phifer was on hand, both to promote her own Ghita line and as one of the "grand prizes" -- a lucky winner nabbed the opportunity to work with her on a custom dress. HauteLook's Carlota Espinosa was also in attendance, and it almost sounded like she was going to singlehandedly clear the store out. (Just kidding!) The party ended early, sending the party-minded out onto the streets of Melrose, and into some pretty major culture shock.
