Promises of 50% - 75% off designer clothes and accessories draw huge crowds to the Barneys New York Warehouse Sale. Find out if it's all worth your trouble here, then head over to the LA Convention Center at 1201 South Figueroa.
We got there right as the doors were opening: predictably, people made a mad dash for the bags, and the lucky scooped up Givenchys for $500, mildly defective Alexander Wang bucket bags for $200, and we saw a few Goyards vanish in a poof of smoke, too.
The first day of the sale means no real markdowns: it's all the same merchandise that's been haunting Barneys and Barneys Co-op sale racks for the past few months, and mainly the same prices. Like a pair of Rag & Bone nude colored wedges for $219, and Barneys Co-op shoes for $179 (and under). It's good stuff. But the question always is, Buy it now or chance that it will still be there when the inevitable markdowns are taken?
The defective section yielded treasures like a Rag & Bone sweater for $19, a weird, puffy Dries Van Noten jacket for $200, and jeans for $50 and under. Remember, kiddies, during the last days, this section goes as much as 75% off.
