A pair of uber-cool, indie retailers recently defected to Sunset Junction. Record store Vacation, formerly neighbors of Confederacy and American Apparel on Hollywood Blvd. in Los Feliz, just moved into a slightly bigger space that also has some great neighbors (Secret Headquarters and the Spice Station).
And Mohawk General Store uprooted itself from Echo Park and moved west on Sunset Blvd. They officially opened in the new digs last Tuesday. We were in this weekend; the owners want to get a few things finessed before we feature them, but we gotta say, it's a lovely store that already has great pieces for sale. We saw some exceptional furnishings, vintage sunnies, and they stock a selection of clothes and shoes that includes Raquel Allegra, Generic Surplus, Rachel Comey, Dolce Vita, and Slow and Steady Wins the Race. Can't wait till they're ready for prime time!
