Need an idea for splurging? How about a sample sale? Or an amazing pair of shoes from Alexander Wang (which would totally be our choice)?

EVERYWHERE—We swear we're not making this up: June 18th is National Splurge Day. And this day has been scientifically proven to be the happiest day of the year. So stop what you're doing, go outside, and go buy yourself something nice. [Fox LA]

WEST SIDE—Too bad the folks behind the Sample Sale didn't have their sale on National Splurge Day. Oh well. Saturday, come out and shop LA Vintage Exchange, Rossmore Jewelry, Mark and Estel and Rachel Poritz Design. It's noon to 5pm; cash and PayPal accepted. 1424 Carmona [Racked Inbox]

CULVER CITY—Big doings at Scion's Installation LA Gallery tomorrow night: “ZPFfffft!!!,” a group exhibition that features works by Gary Panter (a frequent Stussy collaborator), Bob Zoell and Devin Flynn. There's some large-scale work, including a 23-foot wall covered with Panter's chalk drawings, and some smaller work that's available for sale. There's an opening reception at 7pm; the show lasts through July 10. 3521 Helms Ave. [Racked Inbox]
