Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Fred Segal got in on the World Cup mania this weekend by hosting a soccer tourney in the parking lot. One of the best ideas EVER. While everyone else was indoors, watching Algeria vs. Slovenia at a sportsbar, we were watching live soccer, out in the sunshine. Where else in this city could you have gone to see cute, shirtless boys playing soccer, chow down on goods from Big Swirl, the roving frozen yogurt truck—and shop at the same time? (And about that shopping: the Ron Herman sale is now 60% off; there's a lot of L'Agence, as well as skirts from Rebecca Taylor and Pleasure Doing Business.)
