Sad, sad news: Malcolm McLaren, who's most famous for managing the Sex Pistols, died of mesothelioma at a hospital in Switzerland. He was also the former longtime romantic partner of Vivienne Westwood, and the father of Agent Provocateur founder Joseph Corré. He was probably one of fashion's most influential, but unheralded forces: he helped shape the aesthetic of punk, the New Romantic movement, New Wave?so if you've ever worn a pair of ripped jeans, anything with decorative safety pins, or a bandleader jacket, put it on and take a respectful moment of silence.
