Big Additions Coming to Westfield Century City

We take back everything we said about all the stores shuttering across town—during a recent trip to Westfield Century City we discovered three new store openings, plus two store remodels. (Of course, in order for these new stores to open, presumably whatever was there before had to close first. But still.)

There's a bright, shiny new Michael Kors boutique that says it's scheduled to open this month—which we have serious doubts about—a tiny 7 for All Mankind shop and a newcomer to LA, Intimacy.

The Michael Kors spot will be a "Lifestyle" store, similar to the ones at the Beverly Center and the Grove, so you'll still have to go to Rodeo and rub elbows with tourists to get your hands on the designer collection. The 7 for All Mankind boutique is cryptically slated to open in "spring 2010." But what we're really excited about is Intimacy, a bra-fitting specialty store with a handful of other locations across the country. The company is known for its expert-level-seriousness about bra fittings and well-stocked racks of luxury lingerie from brands like La Perla, Lise Charmel, Chantelle and Prima Donna. This is the kind of store that will put you in a bra with an amazing fit, but when you find out what it costs, you will cry.

In less-exciting-but-still-a-sign-of-a-growing-economy news, BCBG is moving to a new, presumably better space. Kate Spade's shop is completely closed for remodeling (let's hope this one doesn't go the way of Intuition).

Unfortunately, we have to mar this lovely Storecasting post with the news that Ann Klein New York is closing up shop for good. But at least the store is having a clearance sale first. So if you're in need of some careerwear, head on over.
