WEST 3RD STREET—Time for another fabulous art opening at EM & Co. How about AVANT-ODD: Fashion Sketches by Justin John Greene. This sounds pretty trippy (and we mean that in the good way). According to the press release, the artist "combines elements of couture fashion sketching with a sense of the grotesque, in order to create an uneasy balance or expectations; a more complex notion of beauty." FASHION ISLAND—Fluxus enters the fray at Fashion Island on Friday. Wow, too much alliteration. The edgy knitware brand joins some good OC company, as the new Fashion Island Nordstrom also opens the same day, and Prada premiers at South Coast Plaza next week. (!!!!!) [Racked Inbox]
