Candace Kelly Designs Classy Loungewear With Grab-and-Go Ease

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

As a mother to three children under the age of seven, Candace Kelly knows the importance of effortless fashion. She began to get inspired before her 40th birthday party trip to Mexico, imagining sexy and stylish looks that would also be easy to pull on quickly so she could go about her day. (With that kind of responsibility, we'd be lucky if we remembered to put on pants at all.) After some research into vintage patterns and a trip to a seamstress, Candace's self-named luxury loungewear collection was born.

We were originally drawn to the collection's bright, happy colors and patterns in chic swimwear and cover-up styles. And we were especially glad to find out the fabrics are all made in the USA and the garments are manufactured locally in SoCal. The terrycloth is soft and flowing in classy silhouettes that are flattering without trying too hard. The strapless short jumpsuits seem like the perfect beach cover-up—we like only having one thing to keep track of.

Prices range from $50 to $220, and you can see the collection in person at Pinnacle Boutique in Malibu or the 5 Seas Boutique in Newport Beach. Or you can just shop online—if you're in dire need of effortless looks, it might be best to choose the shopping option that doesn't require pants.
