Crooks & Castles Closed For Now, Moving to a Bigger Space Soon

When we saw this sign at the Crooks & Castles on Melrose over the weekend, we were kinda dumbfounded. For one thing, that section of Melrose seems to be hemorrhaging retailers. And we keep hearing from industry types that the streetwear brand is one of the big recent success stories. We made a phone call and got the scoop: they were just plain outgrowing the Melrose location, and they're finalizing plans for a bigger space (possibly further down on Melrose, closer to La Cienega). The Sunset concept store will still be open, too. Phew! No word on when the move will happen; we'll let you know when we do.
