Pretty People, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Lots of Love for Shipley & Halmos

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We admit to being a little fuzzy on what was supposed to happen at last night's party for Shipley & Halmos at Confederacy. We expected formal modeling (we have LA Fashion Week on the brain, for obvious reasons). No modeling, but quite a few models and the store was essentially one big catwalk for a supremely well dressed crowd. We're sorry about the false Juliette Lewis alarm, but other good names turned out, including Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos, store owner Danny Masterson, Ben Foster, Laura Prepon, Hilary Duff, and Tara Subkoff, who looked glowy and healthy. The store also exhibited new works from Sage Vaughn (the exhibit was hilariously titled You're such a beautiful person, but you've got problems). Of course all of the beautiful famous people were shown up by the amazing Confederacy merchandise (at least in our clothing-obsessive eyes)—including the new Shipley & Halmos pieces, Alexander Wang shoes, and a mixed media stunner from Phillip Lim.
