GLENDALE—If you're curious to see local designers' and artists' take on the Alice in Wonderland fashion craze, check out the festivities at Local Collection. There's a reception, from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday, where contemporary LA artists will create portraits of live models dressed with pop elements from Alice in Wonderland characters. Complimentary savories, sweets and sips will be served. It's at the Glendale Galleria, upper level near Nordstrom. [Racked Inbox]
SUNSET STRIP—Celebrate all things girly at what sounds like a seriously terrific party at Live! On Sunset. It's hosted by Rumi Neely, and guests can sign up for complimentary makeovers from MAC artists and manicures, and nosh on goodies from Chin Chin and Buttercake Bakery. The party is Thursday, from 7pm to 10pm; RSVP to rsvp@liveonsunset.com [Racked Inbox]
MELROSE—Two great tastes that taste great together: OBEY and Barracuda. The OBEY folks put up a new mural on the Melrose store that faces Fairfax High. The little pictures look amazing; we recommend driving by and checking it out yourself. Barracuda is located at 7769 Melrose Ave. [OBEY]
THIRD STREET—Here's a fun little fashion show that's open to the public: Our friends at EM & Co. are showcasing local designer Angela Dean, and the new EM Reconstruct line. We've seen some of Dean's creations; seriously amazing. She's dressed Paris Hilton, Oprah Winfrey, Katy Perry, and Queen Latifah, among others. Come drool over the fashion, enjoy beverages and beats from Part Time Models, and have a lot of fun. The party is from 7pm to 10pm at 7940 W. 3rd St. If you'd like to go, rsvp@emandco.com [Racked Inbox]
