Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Well, what do we have here but a brand new pair of DVF sunglasses to give to a lucky reader. They're cute. They're kicky. They're actually just the right bit of retro, with a slightly oversized look and a geometric print on the arms. Truth be told, they remind us, just a teensy bit, of Vuarnet sunglasses, which were very big in the 80s. Which reminded us of another 80s sunglasses relic, the Corey Hart song "I Wear My Sunglasses at Night." That iconic song was redone, rather creepily, by Canadian dance music producer and H&M collaborator Tiga. Which brings us to how you're going to win the sunglasses: Send us the names/links to odd 80s cover songs. You know, like No Doubt doing Talk Talk's It's My Life, or what have you. Note: We don't want the original song, the object is to find an off-beat cover of a song. As Pat Benetar would say, hit us with your best shot! And email your entries to la@racked.com by EOD Thursday. We'll pick a random winner on Friday morning.
