Fork Over Some Dead Presidents at the Camarillo Outlets

When Valentine's Day, President's Day and New York Fashion Week all align in one long weekend, there has to be some good shopping karma awaiting us. We know there's a lot of good sales going on around Los Angeles this weekend, but we heard rumours of some good deals happening at the Camarillo Outlets. So we took a sunshiney Friday afternoon to drive up the PCH and see what we could see.

Our first stop was Off Saks Fifth Avenue, where we saw that they were having a "buy one, get one 50% off" deal going on, which included all the clearance items. We saw some Joe's Jeans for $60, J Brand jeans for $80 and 7 for all Mankind for $52. We also found some BCBG dresses for $68 to $110, Juicy Couture white lace tunic dresses for $78, an orange Milly dress for $169, a blue Ali Ro dress for $119 and a crazy Alice + Olivia sequined concoction for $200. In the shoe section we found slim pickings, but there were some L.A.M.B. booties for $229 and fabric lace-up sandals for $120, Juicy gold sandals for $120, Betsey Johnson platform sandals for $103 and Kate Spade peep toe slingbacks for $197. Don't even bother with the handbags.

We saw that the Rock & Republic outlet store had tables of $50 shoes in the front of their shop. There were black and gold sandals and purple pumps, among other crazy things. But $50 is hard to ignore.

We stopped by the Barneys New York Outlet to compare it to the Warehouse Sale downtown. We found Marc by Marc Jacobs ruffle-bottom knit tees for $32 and colorblocked sweetheart neck tops for $35, Loomstate tees for $16 (including one that said "Tweet Me Right" that made us giggle), Rogan denim jackets for $35, Marc by Marc Jacobs canvas jackets for $40, Velvet jersey dresses for $28, Generra khaki jackets for $48, Rag & Bone white trenches for $84, Theory dresses for $40 to $52 (better than the actual Theory outlet), and Rebecca Taylor dresses for $68 to $76. In the shoe department, we found Lanvin pumps for $215 and satin flats for $137, Loeffler Randall multi-strap heels for $126 and Prada pumps for $289. Final verdict: hit Camarillo on Saturday, then hit the downtown sale on Sunday to get the best discounts.

At Last Call Neiman Marcus we hit pay dirt. In the designer dresses, we found green Dolce & Gabbana dresses for $135, a Pringle of Scotland blouse for $122, a Michael Kors neutral dress for $149, Armani blue dresses for $100, a Valentino skirt for $120, a Yves Saint Laurent dress for $682, an orange Bottega Venetta windbreaker thing for $72, a Prada multicolor polkadot dress for $131 and a Chloe navy polkadot tunic for $113. In the shoe section we found Diane von Furstenberg knee-high boots for $225, neutral Dior platform sandals for $333, Loeffler Randall patent-leather cage heels for $198, black Prada slingbacks for $142, L.A.M.B. heels for $239, peach Louboutins for $272 and purple suede Dior cut-out wedges for $740. In handbags, we found Michael by Michael Kors hobos for $131, Botkier bags for $220 to $224 and leather Gucci bags for $270. Elsewhere, we found Ali Ro dresses for $86, DvF dresses for $57 to $64, Laundry dresses for $49, Plenty by Tracy Reese cotton strapless dresses for $21, Badgley Mischka belted dresses for $37, Adam tops for $60 and dresses for $69 and Rebecca Taylor tops for $44. We should have known we were in for a good experience when we heard the theme song to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air playing in the store when we got there. Seriously.
