Okay folks, this is it. The final weekend of the Barneys New York Warehouse sale. Which means slashed prices and picked-over stock. When we stopped by late yesterday afternoon, the racks of women's designer clothes were 50% off, and a sales associate told us that prices would be dropping further on later dates. (That's all the details we got.) So what's left? Well, first off, the bags are pretty much gone. There's a small table of odd neon totes for $23.50 and a few Barneys leather bags for $137 among other assorted oddities. There's a rack of swimsuits, with Jean Paul Gaultier and Stella McCartney separates for $62 to $77.
The shoe racks are still sufficiently stocked with all sizes. We saw jeweled Prada pumps for $314, Lanvin pumps for $414, Sigerson Morrison booties for $300, a size 35 lace Louboutin bootie for $461, metallic Louboutin pumps for $381, black satin Louboutin sandals for $287. For the men we found Converse sneakers for $24, Barneys loafers for $213, and Tod's boat shoes for $180. There's also an "as-is" table with damaged shoes. Hello, $250 Miu Miu boots with a broken zipper!
As far as the clothing goes, if you're a Dries Van Noten fan, you've hit pay dirt. There's enough DVN to clothe a small country. Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration. Maybe. But most of the clothes are $102 to $125, like watercolor cardigans, dresses and more.
We also picked through the racks to find Versace dresses for $250 to $500, loads of Jil Sander black pants for $87, a burgundy ruffled Vera Wang dress for $277 in a size 8, Balenciaga dresses for $125 to $1250 and pants for $110, Dolce & Gabbana gold sequined bustier dresses for $1000, a green Fendi silk dress for $540 in a size 38, John Paul Gaultier dresses for $237 to $500, Derek Lam pants for $120, ruffled Lanvin tops for $82 with similar dresses going for $157 and brocade metallic jackets for $572, Thakoon dresses for $112, Proenza Schouler colored-sequin skirts for $202, Stella McCartney shift dresses for $165, Valentino dresses for $412, Rodarte white leather fringed jackets for $535 and pants for $364 and dresses for $690 and $1250, plus that weird open-knit fuzzy yarn concoction for $517 in a size small.
The "lesser" RTW sections were generally meh, with Theory pants for $139, DvF ruffled sleeveless tops for $107, Wayne snakeskin leggings for $90, Rag & Bone pants for $109, James Perse buttondowns for $59, Ella Moss cardigans for $119, Vince khaki shorts for $69, Marc by Marc Jacobs cotton plaid tees for $89 and tanks for $73 and dresses for $179, Splendid tank dresses for $59 and Plenty by Tracy Reese knit dresses for $59. Plus tables and tables of jeans for $69 to $120 from Rag & Bone, J Brand, Current Elliot, Citizens of Humanity, Rogan and more. We're kind of wondering if we missed some extra discount signage in this area or if they really were priced as marked, but it was hard to actually find sales help, especially ones who knew prices. Though the people who were there were working pretty hard to restock the racks and keep things organized, we still saw a lot of out-of-place items and random pieces that didn't have prices on the tags. So if you're willing to do some legwork to track down prices, you might be able to score something awesome like Givenchy suede black pants in a size 40 (which we saw without a marked price).
We quickly breezed through the men's section long enough to notice that dress shirts, ties and designer goods were 25% off. We saw Theory dress shirts for $60 and Zegna ones for around $90. Generally, the deals seemed better for the ladies.
