A Little Stella McCartney: The New Line for Kids

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Ladies, we think you're perfect just the way you are, but should you be considering dropping a few pounds, how's this for motivation: Stella McCartney just launched a children's line. It's not another GAP collab; it's only available at Stella McCartney boutiques (and online), and this will be an ongoing line, with new merch every season. For the most part, it's all very young: a lot of whimsy and animals here and there. We were loving the skinny cords and a gray chunky-knit sweater (yes, for ourselves). The price is in the same ballpark as the pieces in the GAP collab; the highest price we saw was on that handsome red wool coat ($124): the cords are $64 and the dress are about $100 and under. And on a side note, if you're simply looking for Stella McCartney at non-Stella McCartney prices, the store on Robertson also stocks her Adidas collection, which is actually a much better idea than trying to cram your hips and shoulders into one of those wee (but so cute) little girl frocks.
